Imported from Germany especially for our customers, and manufactured by Schreiber-Bogen, this is a wonderful 1:400 scale paper card, pre-printed cut and assemble, waterline ship model! Built in Rotterdam, this incarnation of the "Nieuw Amsterdam" was in service with Holland America from 1938 - 1971. She started out as a fleet flagship, served as a troop carrier during World War II and eventually finished her career as cruise ship before being scrapped in Taiwan, 1974. Once completed, the ship model is almost 2 feet long!This kit comes in a 12 1/4" by 8 3/4" book format of individual pre-printed cardboard sheets. Detailed schematic and numbered diagrams and symbols illustrate how the model should be assembled, and in most cases are supported by written instructions in multiple languages. This is the perfect item or gift for any Ship model, Ocean Liner model, or Ocean Liner memorabilia enthusiast!
